Compact Size and Lightweight: The R-type transformer utilizes an uncut, wound core with a uniform circular cross-section. Compared to traditional E-I or C-core transformers, it can be approximately 30% smaller in volume and 40% lighter in weight. This compact design makes it easy to integrate into devices with space constraints.
High Efficiency and Low Loss: Due to its seamless core made from high-permeability silicon steel, iron losses are significantly reduced. Furthermore, the close proximity between the windings and the core shortens the energy transfer distance, achieving efficiencies of over 90%. Additionally, the average turn length of the copper wire is shorter, which further reduces resistive losses and temperature rise.
Low Leakage Inductance and Strong EMI Suppression: The core's gapless structure and balanced winding result in extremely low magnetic flux leakage. It effectively minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI) on nearby electronic components without requiring additional shielding. This feature is particularly important in applications like medical equipment and precision instruments where signal purity is critical.
Low Noise and Low Temperature Rise: The uncut core absorbs magnetostrictive stress, and combined with low-loss materials, ensures very quiet operation. At the same time, minimal resistive losses generate less heat, leading to excellent temperature control and suitability for continuous long-term operation.
Safety and Flame Retardancy: The primary and secondary windings are manufactured separately using PBT bobbins, providing superior insulation that complies with multiple international safety standards. The use of flame-retardant materials further enhances the device's fire resistance.
Small Excitation Current: A well-designed R-type transformer has a significantly reduced excitation current, which lowers no-load power consumption. This makes it ideal for scenarios requiring long periods of energization but with fluctuating loads.
